The role of consciousness is vital and important for understanding Oriental & Indian Cultural Heritage. Consciousness that develop from the soul that lies in a living being and a part of supreme that monitors Human activities.
Established in 2018, Bengal Institute of Oriental Studies (BIOS) is an International Institute of oriental studies and cultural heritage. The Institute runs classes on the Veda, Vedanta, “JYOTIR VIGYAN”, Jyotish (Astrology), Upanishad, Nyay, Indian Philosophy, Smriti Shastra, Kavya, Sanskrit Language, Vyakaran or Sanskrit Grammar, Ayurved, Yoga, Meditation, Tantra Shastra, Vastu Shastra etc. Oriental Learning as named by the western scholars who visited India in 16th and 17th Centuries means the Providence-bestowed profound knowledge and wisdom that the Indian saints have had. Oriental way of life was predominantly originated from a sphere close to spirituality. The observance of various rituals and activities aimed at acquiring wisdom about the ultimate truth reflect what a super-scientific force works at the backdrop of Oriental Learning and Cultural Heritage. ‘BIOS’ has its panoramic activities to launch a special drive to locate, prepare, preserve and publish valuable manuscripts on meditation and Yoga, Veda, Vedanta, Upanishad, Smriti Sastra, Jyotirvidya, Tantra Shastra, Medical Astrology, Vastu Shastra and other oriental studies. To promote, conduct, carry out, run all these ‘BIOS’ continues its large number of local, national and International institutes with a large number of experts, pundits, renowned personalities, community servers, social workers, volunteers and also arranging local, national, international Seminars, discussion, lectures, open forum, concerts, media meet and some other related activities. For the further development in cultural field.
Some of the activities of the Institute are mentioned below:–
The institute works tirelessly to restore the glory of Sanskrit which includes the revival of Sanskrit Colleges and Universities and to preserve vast number of Sanskrit books as well as manuscripts. The institute runs classes on the Veda, Vedanta Upanishad, Nyay, Indian Philosophy, Smriti Shastra, Kavya, Vyakaran, Architecture, Ayurved, Yoga, Meditation, Tantra Shastra, Vastu Shastra etc. The institute holds seminars at intervals. It renders social service like removal of illiteracy, drug addiction, dowry etc. Social services like blood donation camps, free medical camps etc. are also organized by the institute. It extends its helping hands to flood victims and other distressed people. It has been taking preparatory steps to provide self-employment to the handicapped, mentally retarded youths and hopeless men and women. It has established art school to impart training on classical music, dance and drama. It has a e-library having a good collection of rare and valuable classical and useful ebooks. It encourages Ayurvedic system of treatment and yogic activities.
